Our pupil voice is essential in ensuring that pupils know and remember more. In our schools, we ensure that time is frequently taken to evaluate the impact of the curriculum through pupil discussion and recall of prior learning. This allows leaders to evidence deep understanding of pupils’ long-term memory over simple coverage of objectives. This is an essential part of our ongoing assessment for learning.
We ensure that our learners develop detailed knowledge and skills across the curriculum and, as a result, achieve well. Where relevant, this is reflected in results from national tests and examinations that meet government expectations, or in the qualifications obtained.
Our aspiration is to ensure that all our learners are ready for the next stage of education, employment, or training. Where relevant, they gain qualifications that allow them to go on to destinations that meet their interests, aspirations, and the intention of their course of study. They read widely and often, with fluency and comprehension.
